Community Advisory Council

Native American Beaded Jewelry Class
The North American Indian Association is offering this class with instructor, Sam Wix. The classes began April 9th and will meet Thursdays 5 – 8pm.
Sweetgrass Basket-making Class
Instructor: James Aquash, Potawatomi sweetgrass basket artist. Location: North American Indian Association.
James Aquash is a talented sweetgrass artists who participated in the Great Lakes American Indian Basket and Boxmakers event hosted by Michigan State University Museum and the Nokomis Learning Center. He also had his work exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit in 2012.
American Heart Association Heart Walk
The Heart walk this year is May 2nd, and has moved from Ford Field to the General Motors Headquarters/Riverfront. We will be walking down near the Riverfront this year. For more event info click on this link
