Film Screening Postponement
The project happiness film screening with Native Cry that was scheduled for July 30th here at AIHFS has been postponed to a date as yet to be determined.

Suicide Prevention Training
AIHFS is having an ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) August 9th-10th at the DoubleTree Hotel on 5801 Southfield Rd, Detroit, MI 48228. ASIST trainings are 2-day, eight hour trainings for anyone 16 or older—regardless of prior mental health experience—who wants to be able to provide suicide first aid. Attendees must come to both days of the training to receive certification. Training is funded by the Sacred Bundle Program at AIHFS and is at no cost to attendees! Fresh Food Share
Fresh Food Share is an easy, low-cost way to get your fruits and veggies. Through Gleaner’s, the program sources produce and will deliver your order to AIHFS for you to pick-up. The next Fresh Food Share order due date is August 12th.

Northern Indigenous Games
Saturday, August 20, AIHFS will be hosting Indigenous games for youth ages 8-17, parents and family are welcome. Registration is limited to the first 30 youth. To register or for questions, contact Nicolette at 313-846-6030 or nmcgahey@aihfs.org

PrEP for HIV Prevention
PrEP stands for Pre-exposure prophylaxis. Studies done so far show a reduction of HIV infection by 92% in people who take the pill EVERY DAY. PrEP does not work this well if it isn’t taken every day. Fulbright Scholarship
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is the largest U.S. exchange program offering opportunities for students and young professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and primary and secondary school teaching worldwide. The program currently awards approximately 1,900 grants annually in all fields of study, and operates in more than 140 countries worldwide.
