Transportation to N. Scott Momaday Evening
Thanks to a generous offer from University of Michigan there will be transportation, Friday, March 11, 2016, from AIHFS to Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, Michigan League Ballroom to hear a lecture with a reception for Pulitzer prize-winning novelist, Native American scholar, and poet, N. Scott Momaday. We will leave at 4:45pm and return at 9:30pm.  RSVP to John Marcus: jmarcus@aihfs.org   You may want to arrive early though and buy some food at our fundraiser here at AIHFS (see next item)

Fundraiser
Friday, March 11, 4-7pm, AIHFS will be selling cornsoup, fry bread and Indian tacos to help an employee that lost their house and belongings due to a house fire. Eat here or buy some to go!

Seed Starting Workshop
March 21, the Can Am Indian Friendship Centre will be teaching how to plant heirloom seeds and how to grow a variety of vegetables from seed. To register call Joanne or Michelle at 519-253-3243

Water Ceremony and Presentations
Saturday, April 16, near the Flint river there will be a gathering of all Nations with ceremony and presentations. This is in the planning stage and more information will be coming.

MENS ONLY MEAT AND GREET!
SAVE THE DATE! FRIDAY, APRIL 22, 2016, we invite all men, fathers, uncles, grandfathers and mentors to join us for dinner from  5-8pm.  AIHFS is calling all men together so we can learn how to serve and engage you better in Healthy Start, Men’s circle and all other services at AIHFS. We provide the  delicious food and you provide the feedback. This is a men’s only event and your opinion(s) will make a difference. Come and join us!

Men’s Circle
Mondays from 11am to 1pm. It is meant to provide a safe haven for men wishing to share and discuss life’s challenges as well as life’s many joys. For more info contact Shelly Nimocks-Hinshaw 313-846-6030.

Women’s Talking Circle
WELCOME ALL LADIES!!!! Are you tired of watching afternoon soaps ? Cleaning the house got you down? That pot of coffee not keeping you peppy during the day? Well hey, it’s time to break up the monotony of your week and come to AIHFS for Women’s Talking Circle. We meet every Wednesday from 12-2pm. A potluck lunch is provided w/ the assistance of our lovely ladies in attendance . Be among Women  who are caring and compassionate and need a break just like you.  We have crafts to challenge your creative side. We do exercises to enhance your figure. We have Talking Circles to relieve the stress and find inner peace with your spirit sisters. So ladies please join us and heal your spirit and mind.
